Dance Production

The Dance department produces two dance concerts annually one in the Fall and in the Spring to showcase our students in a pre-professional concert.

Fall Concert

ART OF CREATION (A View Inside the Dance Studio)

 December  each year the  Dance Dept present; Art of Creation a student showcase.The sophomore and junior dance majors, choreograph and perform work they created in the APA Black Box Theatre. The performances are on Thursday and Friday evening at 7pm. 

In addition to the student work, the evening begins with "A View Inside the Dance Studio", the audience gets to peek inside some of the technique classes for all grades 9-11 at APA. A great way for parents, family and friends to sit in on several classroom demonstrations.

Spring Concert

APA Mainstage Dance Concert (Tickets go on sale in March)

APA dancers will perform works by Artist-in-Residence Carolyn Dorfman, Artistic Director of Carolyn Dorfman Dance, Lara Gonzalez Co-Founder & Artistic Director at Marafanyi Drum, Dance & Song, Jay T Jenkins,founder Jette Jazz, Paul McRae, Assistant Artistic Director of NJ Ballet, Rachel Brown - Kean APA Dance Faculty,Tommy Scrivens, Professional Dancer/formerly with David Parsons Dance Company, Nathan Trice, Artistic Director/Founder of nathantrice/RITUALS,The Well Performance Project.

Also on the program are works by APA Dance Faculty-Kathleen Gavin, and Dawud D.H. Jackson.

Ticket Information: This event is general admission seating.

Tickets purchased on  Eventbrite, is subject to a service and handling fee, please bring your electronic ticket to Wilkins Theatre (at Kean University) for admission into performance. Tickets can also be purchased in-person at UCAPA dance department or in person at the Wilkins Theatre lobby the evening of the performance.
